Here is an amazing Art Deco Streamline chandelier that features real neon tube lighting in combination with incandescent light bulbs. You read that correctly! An authentic circa 1940 chandelier, with a column of real neon tubes in a beautiful turquoise color. The chandeliers steel column is surrounded by four clear glass tubes with ribbed design. Encased in each tube is a neon tube that runs the full length of the chandeliers column. The large milk glass shade has a single round opening, that is supported by a steel collar, which is mounted to the chandeliers steel column. This allows the shade to appear as if it is floating, with the turquoise neon piercing through the center.
The large glass shade is lit by four porcelain sockets, that house standard household incandescent light bulbs or newer LED bulbs. The chandeliers Streamline Moderne design is enhanced by the machined steel stepped canopy on top and finial on the bottom. Both add to the long sleek construction and arrangement of the chandelier. Even though this light fixture would look amazing in a home, it was most likely made for commercial use like a hotel, restaurant or office building. Wherever it ends up, it is sure to garner attention and conversation.
UL CERTIFIED: This marvelous art deco streamline chandelier has been completely rewired and is UL Certified for residential and commercial use indoors. The porcelain light sockets are all new, as is the neon transformer that powers the four neon tubes. Note: The neon transformer is housed and hidden inside the canopy. This allows the chandelier to be easily mounted, with no need for special mounting space to accommodate the transformer. Also, the regular lighting and the neon lighting can be wired to operate separately, allowing one or the other to be lit by separate light switches….if desired.
