This stunning lightsculpture is by California artist William Leslie. It was originally commissioned in 2004 and has been held in a private collection until now. The amazing look of the sculpture was created by the artist using thin strips of wood bent and shaped into this unique organic form. He then covers the sculpture in a paper that is soaked in resin,. This gives the fragile design strength and durability. To finish the sculpture, he lights the sculpture internally using three incandescent light bulbs. Bulbs shown are white, but can be changed to any color bulb as well as modern color changing LED bulbs.
The William Leslie lightsculpture is an original artwork and has the artist cipher on the inside of the wood frame. All though originally commissioned as a floor lamp, this piece would be suitable for display on a table or a pedestal.
