The Pegasus artwork 7065 is a large abstract painting featuring the iconic Mobil Horse. This Dallas landmark originally sat atop the Magnolia Oil building in downtown Dallas. Its red glowing neon sign could be seen for miles. It is now restored to its 1935 glory and has a permanent home by the Dallas Convention Center.
The artist photographed the famous sign and mounted the image to a wood panel surface. He then applied layers of vibrant translucent colors mixed with metallic silver and gold. He then finished the piece with a high gloss resin finish.
This is an original mixed media painting on panel with the artist signature and date on the reverse. The painting has a back-beveled profile that is 2.25″ deep and is painted off white on the sides, allowing it to be displayed unframed.
