ALAS 2 is a steel geometric sculpture by American artist and sculptor Betty Gold. This wonderful sculpture is one of her maquettes, which she uses to finalize the design and look, before producing her large and monumental outdoor steel sculptures. The abstract angular design appears like folded paper, giving it an origami like appearance. Constructed of welded steel plates and a singular capped steel tube, this dynamic sculpture was then finished in a bold red color.
Betty Gold’s large outdoor sculptures are in many US and International permanent collections. Her work can be found in over 75 museums, universities, corporate and private collections.
