This vertical triptych is titled Chain Reaction and is an original painting by Texas artist Lori Maclean. It is part of her Redeeming Reality series of paintings. The painting consist of three gallery wrapped canvases with the artist signature. The Chain Reaction painting is intended to be shown vertically, but can be shown horizontally as well.
From The Artist…
Chain Re:action is one of my strongest visual statements. A triptych over 120 inches tall, it is the third set of paintings in the Redeeming Reality Series. This series expresses the complex nature of relationships using figurative, abstract and symbolic styles. Relationships are depicted through the choice of pose, objects and color.
Thematically Chain Re:action focuses on interdependence. The figures are set upon a background where the painting’s mood is developed through color choice and paint application. The placement of the figures is very important. The intentional stacking moves the eye upwards but much more is being communicated. The arrangement of the figures expresses mutual reliance and interdependence. Equality is exhibited as each painting reverses the placement of the figures. Adding to this intention is the expression of weightlessness. This attribute of floating is key to rightly interpreting the message. Credit must go to Chagall’s use of imagery as inspirational for this piece.
