This artwork is titled Pink Hoopla and is a 3D wall sculpture and painting. The artist hand cut wood panels in the shape of a pair of shorts and the encircling hula hoop. Each wood piece was then realistically painted in acrylic paint. The denim bluejeans have all the details and look amazing. The hoop was painted to appear as the tubular hoop well all know and love. Both of these wood components are mounted to a wood frame allowing them to float of the wall about 3.5″, giving you the full 3D appearance.
This construction and arrangement of the wood pieces can be seen in the various photos. One of the photos shows you the side view where you can see the structure of the artwork.
The Pink Hoopla 3D wall sculpture is part of a new series by Texas artist Lori Maclean. Her sculptural artworks involve figurative and abstract elements. The perspective and placement are intentionally applied to enhance the depth and movement of each artwork. The artist signature and the date of the painting are on the reverse.
