The Crucifixion painting by Nik Puspurica is one of the artist best examples of his early work. This painting and some others during this time period looked to be influenced by European artist of the time. This becomes more evident in another painting we will soon be listing online.
I think Puspurica’s Crucifixion painting borrows from the Modernist movement as well as Surreealism. Whatever his inspiration was, it made this painting one of the best the artist did during the 1950’s. The painting reminds me of artwork you would expect to see in Barcelona in the Casa Mila by Catalan architect Antoni Gaudi.
Crucifixion painting by Nik Puspurica is a signed original painting on canvas, that comes directly from the artist estate. His signature and the date appear on the front in the lower left. Be sure to see our other Puspurica original paintings and watercolors currently available.
