The Family painting by Nik Puspurica is a look back into the past for the artist. Although there is no documentation, we believe the painting is of the Puspurica family when Nick was a young boy. If so, he would be the taller boy in the middle. Most likely inspired by an early family photograph, it looks as if everyone is wearing their “Sunday best”. It’s a joy to see the fashions of the time, which we believe was the late 1930’s or early 1940’s.
We really love the artist use of colors and the style of this artwork. It’s a modern look of the classic family photo in the mid 20th century.
