Meet the art robot Max Watts aka Motorhead. This creation is another work by the dream team at Van Dusen Designworks. This marvelous artwork combines vintage and antique objects to create a unique and visually stunning piece that will capture your heart.
The head is fashioned from a cylinder head from a small engine, and its eye was made from a vintage camera lens. On top, is part of a microscope lens, reimagined for laser guidance, allowing a target to be painted with a laser beam. Both the laser and the eye are internally lit by LED.
The body of this mervelous robot is made from a vintage Weston Electrical Instrument Corp. Model 432 AC Wattmeter. This adds to its striking industrial and mechanical aesthetic. But that’s not all – the robot’s flexible metal arms are affixed with lighted blue fiber optic ends, adding an otherworldly element to its design. You can’t help but notice his substantial cylindrical legs, which are assembled from salvaged industrial steel components .
These are just some of the pieces used to build this awesome robot. The combination of vintage and futuristic elements used to craft this large metal robot sculpture, gives him a cool yet intimidating presence. That beautiful contrast makes this art robot a true standout piece for any collection.
Motorhead Robot is a custom fabricated one-of-a-kind handmade Robot sculpture. Each of the pieces were carefully selected and assembled to bring this robot sculpture to reality. He comes with his very own embossed Minutemen Series Dog Tags showing his name, nickname and the maker, Van Dusen Designworks. The 12 volt power-pack that lights the LED’s and fiber optics, is also included and uses a standard US plug to power up.
