Van Dusen Designworks ROBOT LIFE 1 is a space-age inspired collage panel and assemblage of vintage and found objects.. The main Robot image on this panel is Johnson AKA “wax-on-wax off”, robot #7 from our Minutemen Series. This collage panel has two interactive elements, the vintage pressure gauge which has been converted into a working clock. The other features is a small light box created from a vintage camera lens. The red momentary switch to the right of the lens, when pressed activates the view. That view is a vintage color 35mm slide featuring an artist’s rendering of the Control Panel inside NASA’s Orbital Shuttle. How cool is that!
