Wild Thing Assemblage Art by Van Dusen Clockworks
This machine-age style sculptural timepiece is made of a variety of antique and vintage found objects. Titled Wild Thing, this unique art assemblage was built using a Stewart Warner aftermarket car heater. This add-on heater was once mounted under the dashboard of a 1930’s-1940’s automobile. Its Art Deco style and automotive appearance is further enhanced by the chrome wings from a Flying Goddess hood ornament.
The working headlight is from a vintage motorcycle. Flip the switch on the back and you have a bright LED lamp. Built into the front of the body is a battery operated quartz movement clock. And of course it has to have wheels. In this case we’re rolling with a dual pulley up front and a sprocket in the back. This custom beauty would not be complete without having its own LED ground effects lighting. This can be seen in the photo with a black background.
This one-of-a-kind assemblage is another creation from Van Dusen Clockworks. Its authentic vintage appearance is the real deal. The artists have utilized these artifacts with their natural patina and original character. All those years of use, tell a story, which adds to the charm and personality of this cool artwork. Wild Thing is a 1 of 1 piece with its own signature name fob and the artist signature plaque with ID number on the back.
