This wonderful Jean-Pierre Serrier Painting is titled L’epouvantail (Translation: Scarecrow). The painting depicts a troupe of traveling carnival performers dressed in their costumes. Like others he painted at this time, its a great example of mid century French artwork. The painting is signed with the artist signature, date and painting title in the lower right corner. Born in 1934, Jean-Pierre Serrier was a French artist and well known surrealist.

FRAME: Unframed.
CONDITION: Good overall condition with wear consistent with age and use. There are a couple of minor paint losses on the painting as well as around the edges of the canvas from a previous frame. The painting appears to be all original and the colors are bright, but the surface could use a good cleaning. See photos for more details.
