This Giorgio de Chirico lithograph is titled Cavalli sulla sponda dell’Egeo. Loosely translated the title reads “Horses on the Aegean shore”. This is a late 20th century lithograph of two horses among the ancient ruins on the shore of the Aegean Sea. The paper is watermarked Designo Palladio and the signature is signed in the plate G. de. Chirico. Below the image on the left it is marked E.A. in pencil and the right is the signature G. de. Chirico in pencil.
We believe this to be part of the Cavalli e Ville folder composed of 6 lithographs published in Rome by Carlo Bestetti in 1966. Previously the lithograph was framed and mounted under glass, but was removed for closer inspection. Currently the paper is mounted by one small piece of tape at the top and bottom on a gold mat board. There are some faint lines and minor creases around the edge of the paper. The Giorgio de Chirico lithograph will be sold as shown in the photos, without framing and glass.
