This Pierre Lardin rectangular frame is spectacular. The frame is made of wood and is very well made and quite heavy for its size. The four inset mirror panels are a dark grey in color with the trim in a gold finish. Centered in each of the mirror panels are a single cast bronze star. The elegant Neoclassical style will add a luxury to any environment.
Pierre Lardin was well known for his frames and mirrors and this frame is no exception. Lardin was born in France in 1902 and studied at the École Boulle in 1916 and then at the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris. In 1925 he received the Grand Prix award and medal at the Exposition des Arts Décoratifs. His talents included artist, designer, glass maker and engraver. He also created and designed wallpaper, rugs and even theater sets. A very talented individual who is well regarded during his time, as well as today.
