This wonderful reclining nude is a representation of Nu couché by Italian artist Clemente Amedeo Modigliani. Originally painted in 1917, Nu couché depicts a nude female figure in repose and is one of the most well known works by Modigliani. In 2015, Christie’s New York sold the painting at auction, which realized over $170 million, achieving a world auction record for the artist at that time.
